Why "Audience First" works - Part 1

THIS BOOK WAS INSPIRED after a realization that I'd published a massive number of books for more than a decade – mostly all wrong. Half of all those books never sold a single copy. 80% of the rest sold a few. 20% sold regularly. And some 3% sold consistently, month in and month out.
Why? Those that didn't sell, or sold poorly, had no audience. Those that did sell were serving a very small, but very hungry set of readers. But I only really confirmed that principle this year:
Build your audience first, write your book for that audience and your book will sell.
This year, several lines of research converged. I was unearthing the texts from the most successful writing course ever. And meanwhile also found myself studying the other production models for book publishers and screenplay producers. And that reminded me of earlier texts which I cross-referenced. From all that, here we are, narrowing our study to what makes books sell – its built-in audience.
