Brazil in Chaos, Ukraine to Receive Western Tanks, Davos & Top World News 1/15/23

This week massive protests broke out in Brazil over concerns with a totalitarian socialist government. In response Lula ordered mass arrests and held up to 1500 protestors. The censorship regime in Brazil has become so repressive - a single judge orders people banned and even arrested with no due process or rationale, all under secrecy - that even the NYT twice warned how grave this has become.

The imminent arrival in Ukraine of Western-made light tanks and armored vehicles, as well as possibly heavy tanks which could be a doubled edged sword as Kyiv will need to quickly train up troops to use and maintain the sometimes-complex equipment. At any given time up to 1/3 of military tanks can be under maintenance. Russia has claimed victory in a key salt mining area.
