10 Plates for 8 Reps on Deadlift!

Drove straight from the airport to the gym yesterday and hit a PR with 495 for 8 reps! I always train upon landing if not at night and it helps prevent jet-lag and makes me feel great.

I get a lot of comments about lifting heavy and injury and blah blah blah, but the benefits far outweigh the risks IF you train smart!

Lifting heavy weights is an essential component of any exercise routine, as it offers a wide range of benefits for both men and women. Here are just a few reasons why you should incorporate heavy weightlifting into your workout routine:

1. Building muscle: One of the most obvious benefits of lifting heavy weights is that it helps you build muscle mass. This is especially important for men, as muscle mass naturally decreases with age. Building muscle also helps you burn more calories at rest, which can aid in weight loss.
2. Increasing strength: Lifting heavy weights is an effective way to increase your overall strength and power. This can help improve your performance in other physical activities, such as sports or everyday tasks.
3. Improving bone density: Lifting heavy weights can also help improve bone density, which is important for preventing osteoporosis and other age-related bone conditions.
4. Enhancing body composition: Heavy weightlifting can also improve your body composition by reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass. This can result in a leaner, more toned appearance.
5. Boosting confidence: Lifting heavy weights can also boost self-confidence and self-esteem. This is because achieving a new personal best or lifting a heavier weight than you previously thought possible can be a powerful motivator.
