Aryeh Lightstone: After the Abraham Accords, all Arab countries will make peace with Israel

In the latest episode of “Ask The Source,” Josh Reinstein hosts Aryeh Lightstone, former US envoy for the Abraham Accords and author of “Let My People Know: The Incredible Story of Middle East Peace – and What Lies Ahead” (Encounter Books, July 2022).

The two discuss how the Abraham Accords have changed the face of the region and put every Arab country “on a timeline of when, and not if” they will make peace with Israel, Lightstone says.

“All of the previous diplomacy of the United States of America said ‘if only we are just a little bit less American, if only we can get the Israelis to be a little less Jewish then maybe they'll fit in better in the Middle East,’” Lightstone says. “We took the exact opposite approach.

“Israel is the one and only forever homeland of the Jewish people,” he adds. “The more Jewish it is, the more it is understood, the more we, the United States of America, stand with them, the more the rest of the world will come to respect it.”

According to Lightstone, peace comes when Israel and America stand for what they believe in.

“Retreat, and you're gonna wind up with the chaos that we've come to know in the Middle East,” he says. “If we don't respect ourselves, nobody else will respect us.”
