Motorcycling has inherent risks. One of the factors that contributes to this is driver behaviors: from absentmindedness, to ignoring traffic signals, to distracted driving, and the like. There isn't much you can do in some situations, and there is no substitute for being mindful and riding defensively, but I find that dressing noticeably helps.
