Kashtin est formé des Québécois Florent Vollant et Claude McKenzie, tous deux compositeurs, chanteurs et guitaristes de la nation autochtone Innu. Ils ont grandi à Maliotenam, près de la ville de Sept-Îles. Leur chanson "E Uassiuian" ("Mon enfance") a fait le tour du monde. They both grew up in Maliotenam, near Sept-Îles. They produced three albums of rich music, and then solo albums.
Their song "E Uassiuian" ("My childhodd") travelled around the world.
