Family of Disabled! - When a Social Security Disability Claimant Passes Away While Claim is Pending
For family members, the passing of a beloved family member is often fraught with emotions and a time to draw strength and hopefully not think about pending SS claims and the like. In not too much time, however, hopefully a family member of the dearly departed is stepping up to take care of her affairs. This may be a spouse, an adult child, an Executor of the Estate, etc. Know this - the claim, which may include potential back benefits up to the month before the passing, can continue - but certain technical steps need to be taken. Take a listen.
This Video share is dedicated to a cherished, recently passed, client. I hope and plan to do right by her, but doing right for her case and therefore her family. RIP.
Note that the form , although noting a hearing level, is used on initial and reconsideration. Ya, we have beaten that horse, but it remains the one to use.
