True Velocity - Composite Cased Ammunition

True Velocity ammunition is a a very cool new option on the market. They offer what is essentially a polymer case combined with a metallic case head to reduce weight and potentially improve accuracy. There are also benefits such as reduced heat transfer to the chamber and a much lighter wallet at $70 a box.

I am skeptical of the real world benefits in a civilian application. Luckily, despite my doom and gloom attitude regarding this ammo, it is most likely not going to live or die based on consumer sales, but on government contracts related to the new 6.8mm rifles and LMG's the US Army is buying from Sig. I could be wrong, but I just don't see them gaining enough traction in the regular market to thrive. Watch the video to see why.
