“Killing the Sin of Pride”
24th in our series the Prophet Zephaniah

I. A Future Without Pride - Zephaniah 3:11
* A. A most deadly of sins
* 1. It was the sin that caused Satan’s fall - Isaiah 14:12-15
* 2. It was the temptation Satan offered to Adam & Eve, to be like God - Genesis 3:4-5 
* a. It was an essential part of their sin - 1 John 2:16
* b. The pride of life will destroy
* B. It is a sin that won’t be present among the saints in the Millennium
* 1. The proud will have been destroyed either in the 21 judgements of Revelation or in the battle of that Great Day of God Almighty
* 2. The saints who rule the earth with King Jesus will be made perfect
* a. When we meet the Lord, either at death 
* b. Or at the rapture - 1 John 3:2

II. Over Coming Pride  - Zephaniah 3:11
* A. Pray to identify pride in your life - Psalm 139:23-24
* 1. A change of thinking that will result in a change of behavior
* 2. Thinking the thoughts of Jesus - Philippians 2:1-8
* 3. Putting others first in our thinking will result in actions that take self off the throne of our life
* B. Purging pride from our language
* 1. How then can we express approval of someone?
* a. Express approval without inflating ego
* b. Speak the way that God the Father spoke to God the Son - Mark 1:11
* 2. Avoid making ourselves the center of conversation
