Have you ever dreamt of starting your very own product line? Seeing your brand on the first page of Amazon and grabbing the attention (and sales) of millions of hungry customers?

The Private Label method opened the doorway for the little guy to do just that.

But... there are a number of caveats that you must be aware of and consider before you dive in head-first.

In last week's episode of Saturday Morning Live for e-Commerce Sellers, Ann Sieg and veteran Amazon seller Brian Cummings discussed the pros and cons of private label and whether or not it's the right e-commerce model for YOU.

Here's everything we covered in the episode:

-The difference between a private label "brand" and "white label" product
-Inventory MOQ's
-Capital requirements for private label
-The skills you need to create winning product listings
-Doing keyword research
-Understanding Amazon Brand Registry
-Promoting your listing with sponsored ads, lightning deals, off-Amazon marketing

In the past, creating your own product line was quite costly and risky.

There was the cost of raw materials or ingredients needed to make the product, the investment in equipment required to produce the product, the cost of labor to assemble and package the product.

And in order to make a return on your initial investment you had to produce and sell a large volume of the products you create. But producing products in mass quantity is risky, especially if it's a new untested product in the marketplace.

If it doesn't work that could mean a lot of time and money down the drain.
Private labeling opened the doorway for the little guy to get into the game of developing their own product line... but there are some caveats.
