This morning I learned that Lisa Marie Presley passed away unexpectantly. A deep sadness entered in. Later on in the morning I saw many "Christian" comment threads that were filled with brutal words.

Other believers that commented who had words of love were eviscerated by these so-called Christians. Whether she knew Christ or not at the end, only God knows.

What really deeply moved me was a profound sorrow for her sad and troubled life that was now ended. Now there is only an eternity that is in question. Jesus told us to love one another, and not just those in the body of Christ.

But an open ended, supernatural, rich love that is not of this world. A love that manifests itself in our actions and most especially words.

I asked myself these questions this morning, "Why are we here? To only shine among ourselves? Sing more songs? Read more books? Get more spiritual knowledge? What is our purpose then? To say so easily, "Well you know, she was a sinner her whole life." Or, "He definitely went to hell!" I felt my heart rip open and wanted to shed this flesh and run my race in the Spirit of His great unsurpassing love!

King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die..."

The time may not be there for people around us. Our time may not be here for us tomorrow. We will be answerable for our time, and "things done in the body whether they be good or bad" at the Judgment Seat of Jesus Christ.

Fulfill the command of Jesus Christ:

"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35.

This is not a recommendation. This is not a suggestion, it is a commandment. Are you Jesus' disciple? Then be obedient to His command to love with His love without question. And speak those things are compelled by His pure and holy love.

"He said “Love…as I have loved you.” We cannot love too much." - Amy Carmichael
