***EVERYONE SEEKING HELP WITH DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, OCD AND ADHD MUST WATCH THIS!!!

Medications may/often work in the short term and really help you, but in the long term could destroy your life and leave you Depersonalized and Disabled.

When one visits a doctor but they cannot find what is wrong, they are taught it could be "Psychological" so you may be referred to a Psychiatrist. The Psychiatrist will follow their f*cked up guidelines and diagnose you with a common label to begin with, like Depression. Then you will be prescribed an Antidepressant like Zoloft. Then if you return they will ask if it is helping. You will likely say "I think it's helping a little." Then they may offer another to be added to "further" benefit. This may help for a while but you may present different symptoms or have a return of original ones. So the psychiatrist will diagnose you with another label, for example, Anxiety. Then comes another drug for this, like a Benzodiazapine like Clonazepam. They NEVER connect the dots that it could be the Antidepressant or Benzo that is causing your new enhanced set of symptoms. It goes on and on, more labels are added onto your Medical Record. You may go back and seek help from original family physician for now an array of multiple symptoms. They still cannot determine what is wrong and look at your medical record with all the labels you now have.

Next thing you know you receive that little side note in your medical records that says "Potential Hypochondriac". From this point forward you will be DISMSSED and NEVER taken seriously.

This is the beginning of Chronic Illness. All caused by the very drugs that were supposed to make you healthy.

Then comes the part where they remove these drugs. For many this is the beginning of real HELL.

When for-profit medicine intersects with humans in distress. Quackery from Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM)
Medicating Normal follows the stories of five subjects harmed by prescribed medications they believed would help them. It is the untold story of what happens when profit-driven medicine intersects with human beings in distress.

One in five Americans take psychiatric drugs daily, often for a lifetime.
MEDICATING NORMAL follows five high-functioning people whose doctors prescribed pills to help with common problems- stress, insomnia, anxiety and grief- with devastating impact on their lives. The film relays critical information for patients and doctors about the potential risks of taking or prescribing psychiatric drugs.
If drug-makers and prescribers refuse all responsibility for such overprescribing, who ultimately bears responsibility for its effects and harms? The interview with DSM-IV Chair Allen Frances is notable and disappointing in this regard, much of it answered in the passive voice. Frances pins the blame on the drug industry but declines to see the DSMhttps://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/dsm as the industry’s practical enabler, its loosened diagnostic thresholds, relaxed criteria, designated comorbidities, and massive expansion more than doubling in 26 years the number of mental disorders said to exist. All these factors have been instrumental in driving over-diagnosis nationwide and worldwide.

The interview with Frances makes clear that, for academic psychiatry, the patient alone ultimately bears the physical and psychological toll of dependency on prescribed medication.

In its ability to connect these parts of the puzzle and put them at a human scale, the film gives a powerful lesson on suffering and its misattribution
