Today's Question: Amazing Grace...but what is it?

Hey pastor how are you doing? I had a question....WHAT ON EARTH IS GRACE!? I see the Bible saying God sits on the throne of grace. Or phrases like by the grace of God. What is grace though? I hear its getting something for Nothing out of the goodness of a person. So one could say Grace is goodness or so I think. So the throne of grace is the throne of good? And when someone says by the grace of God they mean by the goodness of God? Is that correct? What's the bible say grace is?
