Revelation Imminence

When reading the first verse of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, it's shocking to see how many gloss over "things which must take place SHORTLY". They claim to take the Bible literally, but they literally ignore the expected imminence of the heavily sign-ified events contained therein. Have you ever wondered why you are so prone to ignore the clear language of imminent expectation? And have you ever thought it strange that in Daniel's vision he was told to seal it because it was "many days to come" (over 500 until fulfillment) and in the Revelation John was told not to seal up his vision which many think still hasn't been fulfilled almost 2,000 years later? Perhaps we should take Jesus at His word and adjust our eschatological conclusions if necessary....
