California REPARATIONS Plan: $223,000 to Each Black Resident?

A California task force set up by Governor Gavin Newsom to examine the long-term impacts of systemic racism on African-Americans has concluded that black residents are owed $569 billion in reparations. Specifically, the nine-member panel concluded that black Californians, whose ancestors were in the United States during the nineteenth century, are entitled to $223,000 each due to housing discrimination policies from the 1930s to the 1970s.
