Opening Day Deer Season! (We Went Deep and Far!)

We hit the PA (Pennsylvania) woods in search of that big buck for opening day deer season. I called in a pack of does at sunrise. I setup a mock scrape about 50 yards away a month ago and felt that might prove fruitful as they came by in and around the mock scrape. We were feeling good about this opening day deer season. Unfortunately, right after the does came by another hunter interrupted our hunt, then decided to stay in the area we were in, within 30-40 yards of us. He stood right in in the path of where the does were, then stood around for 45 minutes. We waved, he glassed us. Then decided to not leave. So we had to go to another area we scoped out months ago. That did not prove fruitful. But had a great time by my best bud and got a hellacious workout! We hiked in from 550ft to 1250ft elevation, then hiked west 600 yards and down to 925ft elevation, then back to 550ft elevation when we left. Here is to better luck another day!
