On November 6th, 2022 Officer Zachary Rutherford of the Baltimore Police Department responded to a call where he encountered Tyree Moorehead wielding a large kitchen knife and holding it at a woman's face. Officer Rutherford opened fire, killing Moorehead in what some local activists are calling an "assassination". This incident provides a perfect example of the "Lag Time" issue that police officers face when they are in stressful situations where their attention is divided.
