Biblical Meditation

In Psalm chapter 1, it is said of the godly person that “his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night” (Psa 1:2). The word “law” translates the Hebrew noun “תּוֹרָה torah”, which can also be translated “instructions” (CSB), or “commands” (NET). And the word “meditate” translates the Hebrew verb “הָגָה hagah”, which pertains to filling the mind with God’s Word. The believer then thinks about God’s Word all the time, applying it to all aspects of his life, to his marriage, family, friends, work, finances, society, and politics. This helps the believer grow spiritually.
