Biden Says He’s Just as Shocked as the Rest of Us

Yesterday we told you how highly classified documents were found stashed in the closet of a private office used by Joe Biden following his tenure as Vice President. Well, President Biden finally addressed the situation during his visit to Mexico City, essentially pleading ignorance, saying he didn’t know what the documents were about.
As reported by Politico:
"President Joe Biden on Tuesday said that he was 'surprised' at the discovery of classified documents in a private space at a Biden-related think tank and that he did not know what was in them.
'I was briefed about this discovery and surprised to learn that there were any government records that were taken there to that office,' Biden said, speaking in Mexico City at a news conference with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. 'But I don’t know what was in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I ask what documents they were.'
We do know that some of the documents were regarding Iran – and others Ukraine, the subject of the first impeachment trial of then President Donald Trump. Ukraine is also a major factor in President Biden’s own past business dealings, along with his son Hunter Biden. It’s hard not to wonder what those particular pages have to say."
Can we give President Biden the benefit of the doubt when he claims to have no idea what the documents are about? Remember how sternly President Biden and the Left came down on former President Trump after the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago? In fact, even in today’s statement Biden claimed: "People know I take classified documents and classified information seriously."
Do they though, Mr. President? Because you were just caught red-handed with classified documents hidden in a closet and you want to essentially shrug it off? You attacked your predecessor for having documents, while you were sitting on classified files yourself. You haven’t called for a special prosecutor to investigate yourself. You haven’t sent federal agents to raid your own home. Do you only take it seriously when it could hurt a political rival of yours?
It’s glaring hypocrisy and it must be exposed. In fact, in contrast with the Trump situation where a President actually has the power to declassify documents, no Vice President has that ability. So that’s not something President Biden could even try to argue.
ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell was the Acting Director of National Intelligence under President Trump, and he pointed out that the news of this discovery has glossed over some major questions of security and competence that President Biden, or someone, needs to answer:
"Look, [the highly classified documents] went somewhere when they left the Vice President’s office, or home, they went to Joe Biden’s property in Delaware or his office. They went somewhere before they went to Penn. And so we need to know are there other documents that are in those other locations and why isn’t the FBI immediately raiding the Biden home in Delaware to figure out; are there still documents left behind?
We do know that somehow someone put classified documents into the Penn Biden Center where there are no individuals who are authorized to handle classified information. So we’ve had six years . . . think about that . . . six years at least that we’ve had documents circulating, classified documents circulating in multiple locations. We don’t even know the tip of the iceberg."
And as we said, we know that the documents deal with at least two sensitive countries – Ukraine and Iran. The idea that President Biden just left these lying around in an office closet, not to mention time unaccounted for, is frankly disturbing. One can only hope that now everyone sees how hypocritical this Administration is, and whatever shred of credibility it had has finally fallen away.
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes further in-depth discussion of the Biden documents and how it’s being handled by the Left and the mainstream media. We’re also joined by ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs, former Secretary of State, and former Congressman Mike Pompeo who shared his analysis of the coming changes in the House of Representatives.
