Alex belfield get an SPO case 7th March 2023

As i promised i would bring you more news about the record breaking convicted stalker, alex belfield, who also has a staggering 8 lifetime restraining ordered against him.

As you may know i have been keeping an eye open on the Nottinghamshire post who report such things. This appeared on the 4th but I've been a bit busy.

Any way the news is as follows - a stalking protection order known as an SPO has been applied for and the courts have put aside 2 days to hear the case. Starting on the 7th march this year.

These proceedings were started before the criminal case last year that saw him jailed for 5.5 yrs. typically he’ll do half that term on licence.

This SPO is being brought against belfield by 10 people. This includes the 8 people from the earlier case and 2 others who were not part of the original trail.

This a civil case that will be heard at the Nottingham magistrate’s court on the 7th march.

Here is the criteria for applying for an SPO, under section 1(1) of the Stalking Protection Act 2019. The police are advised to consider applying for an order where it appears to them that:

The respondent has carried out acts associated with stalking;
The respondent poses a risk of stalking to a person; and
There is reasonable cause to believe the proposed order is necessary to protect the other person from that risk. (The person to be protected does not have to have been the victim of the acts mentioned above.)

Well there go clearly this an open and shut case. Given the results from the previous criminal stalking case against belfield.
