ELS 501 was built for the Milwaukee Road in July 1973 as MILW 22 before being used by EMDX and the SOO as 6306 before the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad acquired it.. This unit is one of the strongest locomotives in their fleet and is seen the most of all the power they use. This was filmed in East Kingsford, Michigan as they were heading south towards Wisconsin.
