Berlin citizens denounce destruction of Lutzerath to make way for new coal mine

Hundreds of climate activists and left-wing groups rallied in Berlin to protest against the evacuation and demolition of Lutzerath, western Germany. The small town will reportedly be evacuated by February 13, 2023, as the energy company RWE is set to use the land for mining coal. The residents of the area were also told to leave the zone before ‘evacuation measures’ take place on January 10.
