US conducts military drills near Chinese borders, discusses restrictions on chip exports to Beijing

A top US commander says Washington successfully prepared for the Ukraine conflict and now America should follow that same playbook in the Asia-Pacific region as it ramps up its positions near China.

Also, adding to the economic pressure, Washington has been pushing its allies to restrict high-tech exports to China, discussing the matter with Japan, the Netherlands and South Korea, according to the US ambassador to Japan.
