Illinois Safe-T Act Put on Hold... But Why? | Random Things You Need to Know

In 2022, the state of Illinois passed the #SAFETACT which would change criminal justice procedure throughout the state. The act was supposed to start being implemented statewide Jan. 1, 2023. One of the biggest issues with the act is the #cashbail removal piece. Many people think this will allow dangerous criminals to roam the streets free while awaiting a court date. The citizens believe a purge and more violence will happen. Though in another state, we examine a scenario in Milwaukee that may give some light on how effective or ineffective the Safe-T Act may be.
