Oak Hill Church of Christ 9-25-22 Message: "Untangling Life's Knots"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the importance of surrendering life's troubles to God and turning to Him first when difficulty comes.

Often we are met with struggles in our lives when we feel compelled to solve our problems alone. Whether it is for reasons of pride or guilt or shame, we belive our struggle involves bearing our burdens alone. We do not want to involve even our friends or family, as to do so is an admission that not only are we weak and incompetent but that we made a mistake that now has to be resolved.

Of course, God falls even further down this line. God is behind the "break glass" box to ensure that we never call upon Him until every other possible source of remedy has been exhausted. Unfortunately, this is the opposite of what God actually wants for our lives.

Contrary to mankind's fears, God does not grow irritated or angry with us for calling on Him when we are in need. God does not keep a tally of how many times we have 'used' Him like a punch-card. Instead, God welcomes us to turn to Him at the first sign of trouble and to trust Him to deliver us.

Consider if you are struggling with an issue in your life: turn to God first this time instead of last, and seek His deliverance. You may find that He is much more willing and able to help than you feared.
