THE LAW VERSUS GRACE
TEXT: ROMANS 5:20-21; 6:12-14

INTRODUCTION: A number of years back, the great Baptist preacher, Lester Roloff, preached a message entitled "Dr. Law and Dr. Grace," highlighting the
relationship between the law and grace. The subject of the law versus grace is perhaps one of the most important contrasts that a Christian must grasp, simply because the Bible places a tremendous emphasis on it, particularly in the New Testament. We see example after example of the conflict between the law and grace in the accounts given to us in the gospels between Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Pharisees. Moreover, the Apostle Paul had devoted at least three of his epistles, Romans, Galatians, and Colossians to this very subject too.

CONCLUSION: Brethren, may we all give thanks to God for the wonderful grace that He daily imparts to us. I can honestly say that there is not a day that goes by where God’s grace has not been evident in my life. I’m sure the same can be said for you. May we also be reminded of the fact that God’s law serves to greatly highlight the grace that He imparts to us based on our absolute inability to keep it. The two work hand in hand. Not one of us here is deserving of His grace. Yet, He loves us so much that He lovingly and graciously imparts it.
