#657 // WE REAP WHAT WE SOW - OPTIMIZED
Our time here on Earth is short, in the grander scheme of things. God made us with our various spiritual, emotional, physical and behavioral characteristics - God imbued us perfectly to serve His Purpose. Yet he also gave us free will - the ability to choose what we might do and when, how we might work with others - and even what degree of precision or attention to detail we employ in our every move, every day. And during our short time on Earth, we - each of us - invest our one, shared, limited resource - time - in areas that either kindle the great purpose God intended for us, or, our own, private purpose, that is outside His Intent.
Galatians 6:7-9 reads:
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
When God's Son returns to the Earth, a great reaping, or harvesting of souls will commence. Those of us who spend our time and energy helping and loving others, will be harvested with great stores of Spiritual Oil in our Hearts - those of us who burn our time serving ourselves and harming others, oblivious to His Law and His Glory - well, our hard fought labors here on Earth will be consumed in His fiery test - leaving us without reward in the age to come.
So friends - don't lose heart and keep doing good! Keep planting His Holy seeds of faith, love and the truth of His Holy Story which demonstrated His Perfect Love for each of us. For Jesus' path is infinitely preferred - and His Harvest shall come soon!
