"The Root of All Good" is my newest original song. I thought it was important to write and record and I hope you enjoy it and it resonates with you in these difficult times. Thanks to the crew - Kristi Alsip, John Radowski and Dave Feltenberger for their rock solid contributions. Please listen, share and let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Greg Favata

“The Root of All Good” (Greg Favata © 2022)
Verse 1:
These days, the world’s upside down, with no hope or joy
It’s filled with prophets of hate- who only seek to destroy
But don’t let their lies- be misunderstood
Hold tight to all you’ve held dear- it’s the root of all good
Verse 2
Your wife, your kids and your home - your personal empire
Provide the only village you need- or will ever require
So hug those sweet kids- as everyone should
They need our guidance and love - they’re the root of all good
Bridge 1:
There’s no shame- to work all your life- and take home your pay
But they’ll claim- that money corrupts - then steal yours away
So be heard, please speak your mind- or consider the cost
Take my word- it can’t be regained - once freedom is lost
Instrumental:
Bridge 2:
They’ll attack- and rack you with guilt - for the way you were born
So fight back- and show ‘em you’re built - to take all of their scorn
Shout loud! Be brave and defend- what you’ve always believed
Stand proud! Embrace and enjoy - all you’ve earned and achieved
Verse 3
Great men devised and designed - a framework to view
That parchment has yellowed and dried, but the words still ring true
And so they remain and have always stood
We trust and live by those words -they’re the root of all good
(Musical interlude)
Family, home, freedom and faith
They’re the root of all good
That’s right! The root of all good
