Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas discusses the surge of migrants at the southern border and President Biden’s plan to address it. The President is going to the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday to speak on border security and enforcement.

"We are dealing within a broken immigration system that Congress has failed to repair for decades and there is unanimity with respect to that reality,” Mayorkas said.

He goes on to call the administration’s strategy on border security “humane but necessary”. This comes just days after announcing a plan to accept up to 30,000 migrants per month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
