Tawaen Beach - Koh Larn’s Most Popular Beach - Great Day Trip From Pattaya

The small island of Koh Larn is also called Coral Island. It lies only 7 km from the coast of Pattaya, so this tropical island is often visited as a day trip from Pattaya. If you want to enjoy this island longer you can also stay overnight. Koh Larn is also one of the closest islands to Bangkok, you are there in a few hours which makes it a nice escape from the city.

Tawaen Beach is the most visited beach on Koh Larn and therefore, especially on weekends, it can be very crowded. The beach is a favorite for its pearly white sand and clear water. It is also easily accessible because boats can dock on the left side of this beach. A little more peace and quiet can be found on the far right side of Tawaen Beach, as most visitors to the beach do not walk all the way. On the left side of the beach is the small Sangwan Beach, you can also reach it from the pier.

Tawaen beach has everything you need to enjoy yourself for a whole day or more. There are long rows of sunbeds with umbrellas (100 baht rental) and a walking street with restaurants and stores. You can rent big rubber tubes and take a ride on a jet ski or banana boat. The sea water is shallow for a long stretch, making it a good beach for families with small children.

The beach is an easy day trip from Pattaya as well as a weekend trip from Bangkok. If you travel to Koh Larn this is the best and most popular beach on the island.
