RETRO ARCADE STICKS FOR HOME CONSOLES | NES | SEGA | TurboGrafx

Back in the day, playing games in the arcade was amazing. You could pilot an X-Wing down the Trench Run on the Death Star, try to become a championship boxer, or even defeat ghosts while eating pellets! When we got things like the Sega Mega Drive, Master System, and Genesis, Nintendo Entertainment System, or TurboGrafx 16, Sega, Nintendo, and Hudson all released arcade sticks for their systems to bring the arcade experience home. Here's some of our favorites!

NES Advantage:
Clearly one of the best controllers of all time, the NES Advantage changed the game. You could have 2-player alternating through the controller, it had adjustable turbo functionality, oversized A and B buttons, and SLOW MOTION! I had one back in the day and loved it!

Sega Genesis 3-Button Arcade Stick
Much like the NES Advantage, Sega released its own arcade stick for the Genesis. It features 3 oversized A, B, and C buttons, and turbo-fire buttons that can be activated for each button individually. There is also a slider to adjust the speed of the turbo! Sega released one for the Genesis Markets and one for those with the Mega Drive, and it's awesome!

TurboGrafx TurboStick
Hudson wasn't going to be left behind when it came to arcade sticks, and their TurboStick is really good. Much like Sega and Nintendo's offerings, the TurboStick has turbo functionality for the I and II buttons, and like the NES Advantage it also has in integrated Slow-Motion! Smaller than Nintendo's or Sega's controllers for the Genesis, this is one of the smoothest home console arcade sticks.

Sega Master System Sega Control Stick
The weirdest controller out of the bunch here, the Control Stick for the Master System does something really odd: it reverses the positions of the joystick and the buttons! As such I always had a hard time using and playing games with this. I am not sure why they would have done this, but it makes an otherwise interesting concept unusable to me. Thankfully, the 3 and 6 button arcade sticks for the Genesis work on the Master System too!
