Death at your doorstep? Excess deaths at home from the ONS data for England & Wales

In an age of heightened public health awareness and safetyism how can this have been swept under the carpet? Excess deaths are running at 500+ people a week in England & Wales and we have the ONS data to prove it. This is not a recent or temporary phenomenon and in the midst of an NHS crisis, things do not look like they will improve for the foreseeable future. Why have the MSM remained silent on this issue and why aren't the politicians acknowledging a pattern of deaths stretching back nearly two years. This is unrelated to Covid and predates any treatments related to said virus.
