To Exploit The Past: What Happens When We Erase History?

History. We as humans have a tumultuous past. We've achieved incredible heights, and fallen farther than anyone would imagine. History often finds itself sculpted by those writing its tales. I'm a firm believer we need the whole story in order to learn the lessons of the past and ensure the mistakes made are not repeated. Is this the majority stance? I'm not sure. History can be an effective tool. It can also be an effective weapon. There will always be movements that seek to rewrite history, omit certain aspects of our past, or otherwise manufacture a lens through which it can be viewed that suits their ends. Just as their are those fighting to do the opposite, and strip away everything other than the facts of what actually happened.
