Roosevelt's Trip Down The River Of Doubt | The Great Man Podcast Episode #12
In 1913, President Theodore Roosevelt led an expedition down an uncharted tributary of the Amazon River in South America that he named the "River of Doubt." The trip was fraught with danger, as the team faced challenges such as dangerous rapids, hunger, illness, and attacks from indigenous people. Despite these obstacles, Roosevelt and the team persevered and were able to successfully navigate the river and return home. The journey was later chronicled in Roosevelt's book, "Through the Brazilian Wilderness," which detailed the team's experiences and the scientific discoveries made during the trip.
