Save the Sheikh Canberra Rally (Lateline, June 3rd 2010)

http://www.savethesheikh.com. June 3rd, 2010, around 1000 of us gathered outside Parliament House in Canberra to protest the scheduled deportation of Sheikh Mansour Leghaei.

The United Nations has written to the Australian Government, asking them not to deport the Sheikh until they have investigated his case. Thus far the Minister for Immigration has ignored the UN request.

The rally was well-organised and entirely peaceful. Whether our pleas though reached the ears of the Government is another question? http://www.savethesheikh.com
