Live Coverage: US House of Representatives Speaker Votes Day Four and White House Jan 6th Ceremony

The House of Representatives reconvenes on Friday, January 6, in Washington, DC to resume deliberations to choose a speaker. Previous votes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday failed to reach a consensus, with Republican leader Kevin McCarthy coming up short in every round of voting.

The House voted to adjourn for the fourth time on Thursday. Republicans have a majority after the November midterm elections, but a splinter GOP group of about 20 representatives has endorsed other candidates.
