You Don't Have To Suffer

That mentality of "I had to do it back in my day, so they should have to do it too", is a tricky one. Some things are important to pass down, like the value of hard work. But some methods for doing things and ways of thinking aren't great, and if they can be improved to better future generations, shouldn't they be? Or should they have to suffer in the same way simply because that's how we've always done something? What about student loans? Should the government pay them off? Should they not? Should they fix the problem at the source?
