With the national debt at $30.8 trillion and rising each day, the Fiscal Sustainability Foundation is calling for the States to step in to stop out-of-control spending by Washington. “Excessive federal spending is making inflation worse,” said Thomas Llewellyn of the Fiscal Sustainability Foundation. “States need to step up and tell Washington that the gravy train is over.”
Llewellyn said ALEC has three model policies for states to consider that would facilitate a Convention of the States to help rein in excessive government spending.
