COI versus ROI - Creating Urgency with Cost of Inaction

Return On Investment (ROI) is used to convince clients that they should invest in the seller's product or service. Yet, a more powerful analysis is available but less often used, Cost of Inaction (COI). ROI is about emphasizing the positive. COI is about emphasizing the negative. We are motivated more by pain (negative) than gain (positive).
