Some of the people living in Alameda County in the area of Niles Canyon were advised to leave their homes because of heavy rainfalls and the threat of landslides like those seen in this video.

The massive amount of earth then slid onto the Niles Canyon Road as this footage shows after it was shared by 35-year-old Alex, from Fremont, CA, who is the owner of DJ Alex Reyes Entertainment.

He told Newsflash that the video was shot at the intersection of Canyon Heights Drive and Pickering Ave in the area known as Niles Canyon on 4th January.

He said extreme weather was not unusual but a mudslide has never happened before.

Alex said fortunately nobody had been hurt but that the severe rain had been very worrying.

He said: "The mudslide has never happened but we must never underestimate Mother Nature, she gives us a lot of rain along with the wind."

The former journalist took the video joiner before celebrating his 36th birthday on 8th January, which he noted was the same day as Elvis Presley.
