WW1 SURVIVOR FORTS OF VERDUN

Before WW1 ever began several lines of forts had been constructed around the city of Verdun beginning already in the late the 1800. And as military developments happen during war these forts were inspired on lessons from the Franco Prussian war in 1870/1. And for that reason the forts here are extremely interesting, and you will see details and a construction you will not see just a few years alter. And many of these forts were heavily damaged during the war, or stripped during WW2. However a few especially smaller forts can still be found if you know where to look.

Historian Roger Cook and myself are taking you on a journey of a few of these special places, one small stop fort almost in the shape as it was in 1918. But just to point out that WW1 was not just a trench war we are going to the forts to take a look at the details and share the stories.
