Children are now among some of those worst affected by Sri Lanka’s economic crisis, according to the United Nations.

With more than six million people struggling to feed themselves, a growing number of families are having to sacrifice education in a bid to keep costs down.

While school is free in the country, meals are not provided. Families must also consider the cost of uniforms and transport for their children.

This has left parents facing the choice of which of their children to send to school.
