MZTV 1120: Human Disbelief Begins at Genesis

Even those who claim to believe in God and His Word look sideways at the Genesis account of creation, including the formation and animation of the first human being. It's the child-like simplicity of the account ("God spoke and it came to be") that offends the intellect of humans, who love to a) complicate things, and b) consider themselves to be wiser than God.

Of course we know that God does this on purpose—executes magical, mind-numbing marvels—to trap humans in their own wisdom. In other words, God dares people to believe Him. Few take the dare. We of the body, however, bite hard, for what could be more mind-numbingly marvelous than the Creator of Heaven and Earth choosing US to be His intimates in the future administration of a universal reconciliation? Compared to that, the fashioning of the elephant—at the snap of a finger on Day 5—seems altogether common.
