How to Remove Carpet - DIY

In this video, I show you how to remove carpet including the baseboards, carpet, under-padding, carpet tack strips, and how to prepare for new flooring. Its very easy to complete, you don't need a lot of tools, and doing it yourself could save you some money. If you are having new floors installed professionally, and there is no demo required, the company will probably charge you less to complete the job.

In the video, I cut around the edge of the carpet to access the carpet tack strips. Note, you can skip this step and just remove all the carpet and then the tack strips. The only reason I did it this way was because I knew I was not going to install the flooring for a few weeks...and I have a dog that hates walking on a sub-floor. :)
