Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad ELS 502 Working On Memorial Day? | Jason Asselin

It's apparent that Memorial Day is not a holiday for this short-line railroad in upper Michigan. It may be a day of remembering, but they'll have to do it while working. ELS 502 was built for the Union Pacific Railroad Company as UP 3693 (EMD SD40-2) in January 1980, then it went into service for San Luis and Rio Grande Railroad as SLRG 202 in the 90's before moving to the Independent Locomotive Service where at first it was ILSX 202 but was later changed to ILSX 1344 until the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad purchased it and made it today's ELS 502.
