I just wanted to add that when I was talking about leaning on my own understanding I misspoke. I finally came to an understanding about why acting on same-sex desires is a sin as I delved through the scriptures. Before that I was convicted, and turned regardless of not having a fuller understanding through the scriptures yet, as I was a new believer. I humbled myself, and was willing to learn, as I have been with all sins that are listed in the Word of God. The Truth is we don’t need to know why, but it can help. What God says is FINAL! We should immediately turn from any sin that is listed as soon as we realize it is a sin. This doesn’t mean we won’t ever be tempted, or that our sinful attractions/desires will go away completely.
