Joshua Tree National Park Facts 2022

Joshua Tree National Park got its beginnings in in the early 1900's. A Pasadena resident, Minerva Hoyt, was concerned about all of the desert plants that were being removed from the area and brought to Los Angeles. She managed to push and save some 850,000 acres into a National Park, 1936.
Barker Dam was built in 1902 to provide water for horses and cattle, you can easily hike to the dam.
