As many of my longtime viewers have likely noticed, I tend to take the Erie Canal Trail and come up through the University of Rochester campus if I'm taking 15A north, but South Ave is usually faster in terms of distance/speed. I can't go as fast on the canal trail and it adds a few miles to my ride, which translates into an extra 3 - 6 minutes per mile (or more if the weather is exceptionally crappy) or I hit consecutive red lights that I can't safely roll. I had prior engagements later in the day and needed to be efficient with my time, so enjoy change in scenery.
