Friday afternoon I caught ELS 501 and ELS 503 under US-2 heading towards Iron Mountain, MI where the accident happened Thursday. After catching them on a bridge, I drove to where the van hit the train and then to East Kingsford. The day of the "accident" ELS 501 was long hood forward, but in this video they appeared to have changed direction in Channing, MI where the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad has a depot and Y.
