AGE VERSUS STANDARDS IN RELATIONSHIP

Standards, they say, should never change
But as we age, sometimes they rearrange
What we want and need in a partner
Can shift with time, it's not a vapor

Age is just a number, they say
But in relationships, it can play
A role in what we look for and desire
It's okay, there's no need to perspire

Maybe when we were younger, we wanted the thrill
Of someone wild and carefree, with no chill
But as we grow and learn, our standards evolve
We start to look for something more, something we can revolve

It's okay to have different standards at different ages
It's a part of life, it's not a cage
We should never feel ashamed or guilty
For wanting something different, it's not a city

Age is just a number, it doesn't define
Who we are and what we want, it's all in our mind
